A Scanner Darkly

Black bean in the back of the throat and it's all the maniacal sweats to make a meet with minutes to shave off from the overshot. Two what looks to three to four turns three and down again to two.

Few sessions of A Scanner Darkly remain in the season. Three weeks is too short and the spread of screens making it all the more harder to nab. Keanu Reeves in any form is a form worth catching in science-fiction.

Skitzy, the opening straight away sets the feel of the movie and the rotoscoping is just a marvel to marvel. Can't imagine the film done in a process that isn't in with this particular animation technique. Certainly not of 3D in any event.

Paranoia and the severe effects of drugs on the brain are never more apparent than through the characters of Robert Downey, Jr. and Woody Harrelson. They basically scratch and crawl on the walls with buzzing eyes constantly on the lookout. Pleasantly disturbing.

Fred and Bob's duality and coexistence is a matter which beckons pause, if only to ascertain where in the line the other splits off from. Cruel world of Substance D, slightly displacing as it is depressing.
