Battlestar Galactica

Television

Falling slots break away to clear out Battlestar Galactica in the line up. Cold, menacing and entirely without a spark of insecurity, the opening titles are a good indication of the tone of the show. As an introductory piece, it crashes and stumbles all out after the short history on the conflict with the Cylons. Scenes upcoming in the flash forward opener doing little else but aching a forewarning of the events.

Watching this series outside the regular viewing habit is easy enough to do. Enough of a beat is given without blowing holes in the ship to drown the passengers.

In this chapter, the Cylon threat has been exposed and revelations ripple through to the general populace. Of course, an independent tribunal is set up to uncover the flaw in the system and to locate a scapegoat. Naturally, for a universe set far into the future, the sight of an old-fashioned stenographer during the court proceedings is a worrying defeat.
