Voicing a change for the future

The future is here. Or at least it sounds that way. For the past three days I thought that there was some kind of glitch or such with the voiceovers on Glenfield station. Seems not to be the case. A few other stations are too experiencing futurisation. As it is or was, the station announcements were made with a man's voice. Now there's this lady's voice. In most of the movies and TV shows I've watched, the computer voices are with a female's, not male. Case in point, the computer on all the Star Trek movies and serials are done by Majel Barret. Definitely female. The future has had a sex change.
