The lights had been totally turned out and it wasn't until the bright yellow of the next trailer warning that there was some certainty the seat adjacent wasn't taken up by someone. There weren't many kids in the theatre, the MA15+ must have been a barrier to them, although the seats behind did smell of chicken, or twisties, or chicken twisties.
From the onset there is a definite hue of red to Blade 2. Understandably so being that the subject matter revolves around blood of all tasty things. Barbeque sauce kinda tastes a little like blood. For those who came in late the movie starts off with a little run back into the history/make-up of who and what Blade is/does. From then on the action just gets ramped into overdrive. There is this fight scene in front of some lights in Blade's hangout, looked very stilted for rotoscope work. Whistler returns as is the norm for comicbook characters. The camera work on this movie was astounding. While others are out to imitate the exact look and feel of bullet time there was none of that mockery here.
Spider-Man should have had more camera work done like that in Blade, not just the final swing through the city. This has been the second time in as many weeks that a sequel has been out and better than the original.
Gratifying stuff.
