BTC 43: Rashay's Cafe on the Hume Highway

Occupied

Lunky hunky chairs and a table for twelve. Carpet friction makes sliding a fraught affair for most sections of the legs. Casually dashing around and off is out of the answerless question. Snapping shots brings out the waiters, eager to ply their group photo shooting skills. Blurry is what it is.

Spider-Man bon-bons crack the air and the funny jokes that come with the paper crowns that cut the ear are not funny at all. Punny and no more.

Starters to share fall precursor to one of the main main selections. Namely that of the seafood platter for two. A platter of seafood for two to share.

seafood platter for two, one plate to rule them all

Calamari rings like sticks, scallops, half a lobster, two salmon fillets, popplers, chips and juicy prawns. The massive plate sits atop a wire frame to hover its huge beast of a palette above the rest of the other dishes. Stares from the entire restaurant come over, bug-eye eager to note the monstrosity and scope of it all.

Waiter stabs an attempt for a desert joke to run across the road to fetch a bottle of Dr Pepper. Not realising that across the road lies the source of nothing worthwhile, let alone soft drink of the palette.

Already done by the appetisers, the kicker and the killer scoop the shells of the scallops. Horrendous effect of sniffing the whiff of covering cheese sidelines the ability to down the food. Severely out of step, its inclusion makes for a troubling ripple. Untrue to form, the plate shines with a few spots of food escaping the guantlet of the gullet. Defeated by the smell.

Wiping it off, the finger flip of poker chips watches on as a game of nine kicks out three before taking a nap to count the cards and crispy m&ms in the water bottle. Bluffing works well when knowing the cards. Bluffing with a hand or two reading the wrong number is just that more salient.

Waiter never returns from the excursion to locate and source a bottle of Dr Pepper.

Filthy liar.
