Someone out there should start a simple barcode database. Some of the competitions that I've come across ask for either the barcode number or similar proof of purchase. It'd be simple to index, the barcode numbers themselves, along with that the product name. The scanned image of the barcode could just as easily be referenced by the index key. Nothing flash, just something to rort these mail-ins.
What about a database of images and logos? I've drawn some things on test papers and whatnot and for the life of me can't figure out whether or not they're owned by someone else already. It would be good, the basic name of the image/logo/insignia with a few description terms ranging from the vague squint kind to the coporate drivel. Makes life easier for those of us who can't imagine being creative. I've seen the Google Image Search but comes only fractionally to what I'm thinking. Ever seen this circular thing that's not so circular? It's got these holes that sort of aren't holes but are like illusions of holes, and it kind of resembles that of a drunken yin-yang. Know what I'm talking about?
