All planned for nothing to come following the deadline of this contract and assignment. The request to stay on for another two weeks was surprising in a mild sense of amusement. Of the three from the original six it would have been two remaining. Until one of the others was offered a longer term elsewhere.
As such, from Wednesday of next week the count will be six to three to two to one. And there is talk of two of the earlier three returning for a couple of the tail end days.
One of the extended three, off on his pre-marriage honeymoon on the Saturday morning, sniffled and globbed through his last week. Catching a sickness from his to-betrothed the timing of it all appeared several times before the end of the day rolled around. Unlike the farewells of others, his was a more quiet affair, slipping through the champagne, OJ and cake with nary another awkward gathering.
Which, as things currently stand, mean only one male is left in the documentation side of the shared office. Alone and with the layout plan, the furthest away from the others too. Like a stranded island.
