Visions. Of the victims of evil. One minute the corpse is fine, so to speak, then in a blink of the mind's eye, the body is charred and crumbling away. Doggett, a hard nosed truth seeker—harder than Mulder as we are to entertain—is kept distant from the case, first by Monica Reyes, and then by the entire posse. The fear is that Doggett may be too closely allied with certain aspects of the case, especially given that his son died amid similar circumstances.
With Mulder back on the scene there doesn't seem to be much room left in the basement office. Someone has to go, and in this episode Scully draws the straw and the baby she is carrying sends her off to the hospital.
Twenty minutes and counting till the close. The hospital scene toward the end when one dies and passes on the entity I believe to be evil to another is when I started reversing the events and occurrences of the last section and developed my own synopsis of the show. Distraction in this case caused me to believe that Doggett and Reyes are both telepaths.
