Hey! We Don't Make The Yules! with Tripod

Theatrics

Rainy day and the boots are on the wrong waterproofing wait as the cracks seep in with the moisture. Feet are still pale dry though, so time is on side for at least a few. None of which give much pleasure in seeing that The Metro is sold out for Tripod's "Hey! We Don't Make The Yules!" Christmas Tour.

Watching the line is long, stepping in and going with the flow moves it along just a pace. And from there, the dingy under table spottings of people drinking their drinks.

Not a single spot clear to run around and stand, all the seats in the front gone with the levels up and up with people staking their claim. A fire exit at first, then the back upper landing.

Christmas time with Yon, Scod and Gatesy is a funny diversion from the outside and the other witherings of the week and days around. They play it up well against each other. Stage antics all the more better for the delivery with a smart shot of wit and outrage. The conceit of presents works well into their act, the whole state of affairs just jovial from the first song Fabian.

Songs such as "Hot Girl At The Comic Shop" and "The Hot Dog Man" with "The Little Drummer Boy" package the deal all night long with the right mix of songs. Old and fairly done before, it doesn't matter as the love of the Tripod boys is immense and the heckling hecklers fail to derail at their incessant cat calls and goadings.

Wil Anderson spends the second half of the show pacing about back and forth all in his black neck to ankle garb. Shifty bloke, the thongs stick a lot to the creepy floor underfoot. Nearly knock him on the many leg stretches that carry on through the night.
