Homebush Bay Brewery Bistro

Comics

Relax they will, after the first full day holding on the madness that is Supanova. An army of black and white, with bubbles out on chests, and URLs on the back. One table is too small, and four join on with chairs sliding from all across the bistro floor.

Tartar, barbeque and tomato sauce shots are done in the interim before the others fully arrive. No Dr Pepper here, and the mission to reseed the minds continues. Shame for the milk man, orange juice to join the double with cranberry for the substitution.

Set up and ready to order, the main and flavour of the table is the mixed grill. Sausage, a strip of bacon, a cut of pork and a chunk of lamb. On the side, chips, a grilled tomato and salad.

Mixed grill plate at Homebush Brewery Bistro

As each order of the mixed grill hits the table, the bacon makes itself the centrepiece. Not even existent in the first, barely there in the second and a large sizeable offering in the third. The other half of the table is over hill of notes and coins and by then, no longer at the forethought of the mind.

Working the mastication is certainly the better half of the lower half of the plate. Tough enough to clear enough and the night continues on with a double hit of wedges to clear the air. Few wedges later and it's a poor sight for the mound, barely any potato left for the chilli sauce and sour cream.

Hamish and Andy, over for the ARIA Awards on Sunday, are none the wiser as they hit the flippers of the pinball machine. With two other behind the scenes blokes, they discuss amongst themselves the tricky land of the players at the pool table that break between their pinball game and the lavatory. Not enough to stay any longer and one posed photo outside the exit of a toilet they disappear minutes later.

Last call for drinks fairly early in the night and the table continues knocking up the beer bottles and tales. Those heading early out will only hear relay of the tales that will unfold the morning after across the hotel rooms, sickness and sheer hilarity onto the floors.

Sadly no evidence remains after the Sunday afternoon cattle call.
