Kings home record broken by the 36ers

Sport

Sweet chilli biding time on the Market City food courts and the late casual wander over on the unexpected spots a double of tickets down in the lower bowl of the Entertainment Centre. Right in the throng of the King's fans where the seat rows are doubled letters at least. Drumming and more cowbell ringing ring in the ears but are not enough to stave off the paltry offer of basketball between the Sydney Kings and the Adelaide 36ers.

From the first quarter and through into the third, the lacklustre ball skills leave wanting for far more action than the court proffers. Shots fly out and rim off the ring, the pace of defence and the offence of both sides flailing about in the drowning waves of empty seats all around in the upper and parts of the lower as well.

Sydney Kings cheerleaders and the players' bench on the visual are far clearer, the sonics and the audio not as so. German toddler on the row behind keeps up with the stares and the arm flops over. Not certain what the aim is. It's enough to challenge him to a stare down, down and with a stare to scare, eyes deep with short hours stretching over a month or maybe more. Dark.

Ever gunning runs of Luke Kendall proves one of the few highlights in the game. Mark Worthington and Rodney Elliott backing it up with the score and points on the board. The Lion tries to woo the Lioness in a bevy of the Sydney Kings cheerleaders, but apparently to no fruitful avail.

Timeout calls with a ball in motion and later in the dying seconds of the final quarter strike it strange to delivery. The intensity picks up damningly late in the game inside the final minute. Tight and the race is on with the points edging tie before Willie Farley from the 36ers sneaks in to take the clean record of the Kings at home and smash it upon the heartless floor.

Kings 97 - 36ers 99.
