Arriving on the day that the Big Day Out was declared sold out, two tickets to the very same freak show. Something unexpected given the roundabout hint of abuse delivered down the phone line to one of the organisers when the intial offer back in twenty-oh-two was made to help fill out a page in a magazine which would later go on to arriving some weeks late and to an ever limited audience.
Selling out felt so good when the stakes of so-called editorial independence weren't even a factor. It isn't any more, but selling out is harder to do.
Winding up lost in the city and with what seemed like spare change at the time a comic store was tripped upon. Piled around the store were copies of Superman: The 10 Cent Adventure and Daredevil #41. All up the total cover price was $0.35. But damn it, for some reason, possibly due to the greater stack of CSNs along with the comics, the ponytail charged $1.50 AUD.
Of which the final page in Superman turned up with a slight tear at the bottom with the back cover intact while Daredevil sported an unsightly pressure mark from something. Odd.
