Creativity starves insanity
Seven dollars difference between preview night and any other night for Maria Bamford performing at The Studio. Her spate of recent television appearances rehashing the same bit about temping in a corporate environment should have been warning enough.
Sure she does amazing voices and characters, not to mention wild screeches. But that isn't enough to make for a full hour of laughs. And, for the main, it was funny. Just not the kind to pump the heart with a constant rush. Most of the material was old and tiring to listen to. With all that went on during the entire night out, Bamford was not quite up there.
