Money Licking Couch

Freeload

As part of the volunteering for the taxman I was allowed to claim some small expenses. At the end of each month I would have to submit a form and send it away for them to directly credit the money spent straight into my bank account. In total there were really only three claim forms that I should have sent away, one for October, one for September and the combined July/August claim. The first claim was for the July/August expenses. Racking up somewhere around $16.40 I sent the form away to what I would later discover as being in the wrong envelope. Nothing really came of it, that is until when the notice came in after the notification of the September funds transfer. But I was in a confusion and had already sent off another claim, just for the month of August. In the notice that came for the October deposit it also included an amount of $9.60 for August. Seems as though the Tax Office made a blunder in my favour, $9.60 worth.

Some harsh contrast as I find out that a friend of mine, who entrusted me with his return owes them something in the range of $460.
