Within the short span of there-is-no-time-for-chit-chat, a red headed, bald, bespectacled middle aged man came through the gate, looked at the front of the completed Census form and was off. No, "Hi, name-in-the-form" nothing. There was a reason they reasoned the inclusion of supplying names. Greetings from the people collecting was one such reason. They get paid, and like most people who get paid and work for the government, couldn't give a damn. There wasn't even time to ask him if he could slip in a few bogus forms. They even get commemorative pins. The bastards.
Speaking of pins—a short lived fascination during the games—some Money, Coin and Stamp show at Town Hall are giving them away. But you can't expect the—they feature the orphaned Olympic mascots—pins to be anything prized if everyone walking through the doors gets one with admission.
