Seriously Saturday

Television

Emerging from their own hype generators the announcement by Ch10 on what it was that they believed to be the first ever for Sunday night programming. None of the popularised film-to-television screenings of box office drawcards known to fall ever reliably on Sunday nights. The Godfather II in all its digitally re-mastered state looked like they were going down that route. The one where they ply on the repeats thick and cleaned up.

Instead of the usual movies, they make the move to bring back Goren and Eames in Criminal Intent with newbie NCIS. The latter, promised earlier in the year, invaded so many of the credits it looked like a teaser for something along the lines of a single episode of The Restaurant. Or even the sparse and sporadic slotting of The Shield.

They tried this "all crime" programming with Monk, Dragnet and NYPD Blue on Saturdays before taking the shows away two months later. Right then, back to thinking for a Sunday's change before they do the same.
