Sponge cat for a step stone

Out from the back door, the glistening from the street lights catches the slits of the cat's eyes as it runs into hiding. Pupils dilate a little to cope with the aloe vera plant navigation.

One foot moves over the soft feel of a feral kitten's tail. Step on the bone is so soft that the only texture to sense features not a tail bone at all, all fur and squishy. Single half second of realisation and the feet double back, scaring their soles off for the possible contamination effect.

Lights on and a dishwashing sponge lays on the cement, soft as a kitten's tail underfoot. However that really feels.
