The Dynamic Duo of Merrick and Rosso laid down the claim of an attempt to break the world radio broadcasting record currently held by someone who was in hospital when he broke it. Ten minutes from the normal shift end they declared the attempt ill-thought and abandoned their mikes. For the past month or more there would be this odd feeling that being wide awake and very alert at 4am didn't fit into the scheme of things. Nothing was attempted, counting sheep up only lasted until the paddock was cleared but the counting just went on. The last grass blade counted was numbering 481. Then there was another hour of nothing. Even the Philbert trick of closing the eyes didn't help.
Last night was different. For the first time in a long time of memorial tunage there was the real feeling of being tired and sleepy. Not from the morning following but of before. Can't wait to see this happen some time soon.
