Serving to bring in a belated birthday moderately well, the conditions of the Bondi pavilion were expectedly chilly. What wasn't so was just how cold it would get, the temperature nose diving as the night and movie transgressed. The Dreamers is a film devoid of a traditional plot and just fine the way it is. An overriding theme, which still cannot be discerned, must have been holding the film together. That or that the characters were film buffs.
Riding home past midnight on the train, there were a lot of people getting from one station to another. And this on a school night.
