The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

Quite the feat by the establishment of the Greater Union Hoyts complex on George street. With a film in the vein of Jacques Costeau large on the screen, all seats within were quite damp. The air was moist and mold surely growing from the blast holes of the air conditioning.

The film itself, with Bill Murray as Steve Zissou, hunts down a freaky pace with well absurd moments salting the seas throughout the adventure. Characters so foreign, their language is accented by regions. Wilhelm Dafoe is a cracker of a watch, his Klaus being far from his Norman Osborn of Spider-Man.

Strange angles and sequences really make it a hard thing to figure out what kind of person would really know how to distill the essence of it all. Tragedy strikes with the audience at the preview screening laughing at rather slow moments, ill at ease with the startling and constant change of pace.

Satisfying in difference to the last few films seen. Save perhaps for The Dreamers.
