Retrospective in Comics

Walk along in single file

Whispering with paranoia, hoping that the start and the end are far away enough to last at least a day, the best thing is to rock back and read through a stack of comics. Better yet when the offerings on offer offer up the first of the serials.

Criminal #1

Faces and names and names with faces. Flush and rush of the pace keeps the movement standing still with the kinetic kick of the elbow done in the lines of heat and heart. History plays a part and watching the back is all about keeping the edge of the nose clean. There's a worthy edge to keep this one in line as these four walls, closing more every day. A criminal makes his case and worth to care about.

The Escapists #1

Comic about comic creators starting young and the energy and connection they feel with each other. Fulfilling read for the thickness of the prices, a lowball with a high yield. Flicking back into the Golden Age, the spirit zaps right between the eyes to render the scalp a burning mess of awe that tingles with a sizzle of enthusiasm merely for turning the page and watching the events unfold.

The Nightly News #1

Over and out all across the space, the spread is all about the information overload. News, it seems, is controlling what the people believe and how they think about the news itself. Or at least that's one collage of clippings to interpret as the tea leaves stick down in the bottom of the fictitious cup. A myriad of notes, info boxes, stats and cut-aways to leave the process of interpretation a scene that makes things melt.
