Waddling in after the buffet invasion, the excitement of watching We Will Rock You the first time still lingers around for a second viewing. The head still buzzes with unbounding anticipation and pure joy at the very act of just sitting there watching this fantastically fun and rocking musical.
Clearly for tonight, it was Michael Falzon as Galileo Figaro and Katie Hoolihan as Scaramouche. Almost had a full cast of main regulars, except for Killer Queen; an understudy in her shoes. The voice, skin and curvature of her body clear signs that it wasn't Annie Crummer. That Brit sure still looks like Matt Neilsen from the Kings from a distance. Falzon squeaks and beeps here and there and is such a freaking cool guy, totally within the role. Could be Hoolihan plucking the strings on the axe, can't see clear enough, what with seats pretty much in the same area as last time.
Applause and merry clapping was feverish, palms left merrily beat raw by the end of the final cast bows.
The Bushfire Blonde in leagues with Brian May had all sorts of things planned for the final show. Ringing bells, blowing bubbles, signs and quickie standing ovations. Quite a lot in the very secret communication over at the boards. Nothing in the mind, save for a shout out for tits from Pop. Spotted a few bicycle bells on the way out, older people, those with grey hairs. Dress circle and below is where that fun was at.
Seriously wouldn't mind checking it out a third time. Sadly, with this being the final matinee before heading off to start their tour in Asia, a feat nigh improbable in the short term of a year.
